Old Time Radio Foundation (OTRF), is an IRS-approved 501c3. Any and all donations to OTRF (a 501c3) are tax deductible (consult your tax preparer).
We look forward to seeing you and your friends; most certainly, veterans who are lucky enough not to have to live outside their own homes.
Why the Siri device in the software? The three previously cited family members are all unsighted. The Siri device because, then, an unsighted individual could merely give the IPhone the following commands:
· From my podcast play, i.e., The Jack Benny Show.”
(The phone will play, in “shuffle” fashion, all episodes of The Jack Benny Show which was previously loaded until the next command.)
How would the user know what shows/songs/talk/music has been previously loaded with all the varied genre? Braille.com has developed a very user-friendly brochure.
In keeping with our mission, Old Time Radio Foundation will gift these IPhones. The only proviso being: the recipient will use the IPhone as a cell phone. Additionally, the recipient must purchase the data and phone plans from OTRF using a well-known national carrier.
OTRF has negotiated a very, very favorable plan for our members — significantly lower than typically expected. Why this requirement? Otherwise, this facet of our mission could never be sustainable. Of course, as always, exceptions are always available.
SUPPORT OLD TIME RADIO FOUNDATION’S MISSION
As an avid listener to Old Time Radio shows for twenty-five years, Gregory Kamaras, founder of the Old Time Radio Foundation (OTRF), was inspired to share his passion. After donating hundreds of old cassette tapes containing many radio shows from the 40’s and 50’s to a veterans home, he wanted to make these shows available to senior living facilities in an easier format.
The foundation’s goal is to bring Old Time Radio shows and movies of the era to residents of nursing, veteran and hospice residential care facilities. We are looking at modern, easy-to-use technology for seniors to enjoys the sounds of their past at any time. Your tax-deductible donation helps us with product research, marketing, and delivery to veterans and seniors in assisted living facilities across the country.
Please help us bring back great memories for our clients.

What else, you say?
Why limit our delivery of only old time radio shows on MP3 players? Our co-founder team has jointly negotiated, again, very favorable prices for tablets and flash drives. Using flash drives and tablets lends itself to videos/full-length movies of the era. Yes, public domain movies, via an act which Congress passed in 1972, has declared these movies/radio shows for public consumption.
What is on the Horizon for Old Time Radio Foundation?
In addition to our existing efforts for the seniors in residential communities, in honor of our deceased brother Professor Nicholas Kamaras, PhD., our sister Angeline Kamaras-Kalel and our brother’s widow Kathleen Kamaras, we have our IT volunteers researching the use of IPhones with the Siri device.
It is the goal of the Old Time Radio Foundation to bring the “Golden Age of Radio Back to Life” for residents of nursing, veteran and hospice residential care facilities, all at no cost to residents or facilities. More info…
Old Time Radio Foundation looks forward to having an international identity, albeit just US and Canada for now. We will have a presence in UK, Australia, Bermuda, Iceland, Scotland, Ireland,South Africa, Rhodesia, etc. Eventually, OTRF will have a website address for each country. This US template will/can be promoted anywhere. More info…
